My Story
Davis M. DeBard earned a Masters in Software Engineering from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is President of Software Produx, a software consulting firm. With over 30 years in software development, his achievements include patented software that drives a large internet insurance company, a prestigious award in Mathematics, and articles in Byte and the Wall Street Journal.
Background & Motivation
- There have been two profound “aha” moments in my life. First, when I was a young MBA in Finance, working as a Financial Analyst, I saw the coming personal potential of home computers, before they were called ‘personal’. I jumped on board with both feet. Second, when I began using ChatGPT, I saw another tidal wave approaching shore.
- We don’t need to be a ‘deer in the headlights’ as AI engulfs us. My goal is to help others steer this coming tsunami to their advantage.
Upcoming Work:
- The next book is going to be the logical follow-up to the first. “Artificial Intelligence: Choose the Best” acquaints you with the AI industry, their leaders, and the general lay of the land.
- When I attended the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, it struck me that they thoroughly covered the mechanics of Economics, Accounting, Finance, Labor Relations, etc., but failed to address basic but certainly relevant questions for young business students: “How do you make money?”
- This second book addresses that question. It takes a top down look at the areas opening up for new opportunities with AI. Any successful investor will tell you that the time to invest is when everyone else is scared. Major disruptions mean major opportunities.
